Premium: Features and benefits of the SDM

The eco-friendly Rhosonics Slurry Density Meter (SDM) has been introduced in 2016 and is the first real alternative to substitute nuclear density meters, reaching hundreds of installations worldwide in just a few years. In this whitepaper we will introduce the most important features and benefits of the Rhosonics Slurry Density Meter (SDM).

#1 No radiation

The SDM is a non-nuclear device, which means there are no radioactive materials (RAM) used for density measurements.

In case of a nuclear device, gamma rays (caesium-137 or cobalt-60 isotopes) are emitted through the cross-section of the pipe to calculate the slurry density. To guarantee safety, users are obligated to take measures on-site. This is enforced by local nuclear agencies or other authorities.
