Introducing Authentication for the SDM ECO: More Security, More Control

We are excited to announce a significant upgrade to the SDM ECO that will revolutionize how you manage access and security: the new Authentication System. This innovative solution is designed to provide enhanced security and streamlined user management for your HMI device.

Maintaining controlled access to your SDM ECO devices is key to keeping your processes secure. Our new Authentication System lets you create users and assign permissions, ensuring each team member only has access to what they need.

Key benefits of the New Authentication System

Enhanced Security
Every device now features a unique, device-specific Emergency Admin PIN, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Controlled Access
Define specific user roles to ensure that each team member can access only the functions necessary for their responsibilities. Operators can perform routine tasks safely, Supervisors gain additional oversight for advanced functions, and Admins maintain overall control.

Streamlined User Management

  • The process is designed to be intuitive, from initial setup to ongoing user creation.
  • The Emergency Admin PIN is used for initial setup and recovery, while the Admin user can create additional users with different roles.

User Roles for Every Need
With the SDM ECO’s New Authentication System, you can create a structured team with different access levels, enhancing both security and operational efficiency.

  • Emergency Admin: Used for the initial setup and to regain system access if needed.
  • Admin: Has full access to all system functions, including user management.
  • Supervisor: Can perform all Operator functions and has additional privileges to manage output-related and diagnostic screens.
  • Operator: Access to everyday operations.
  • Guest: Provides limited access for basic operations.

Onboarding
Use the Emergency Admin PIN to access basic settings and create the first Admin user.

User Creation
Once the Admin is established, create additional users (Admin, Supervisor, Operator) according to your team’s needs. On the image below you can see the available screens for the different user groups.
