SDM ECO: 3rd generation of the Slurry Density Meter
Tuesday 05 Dec 2023
Rhosonics has launched the 3rd generation of the Slurry Density Meter, the SDM ECO, early last month. With over 1,000 installations and almost 20 years of on-site experience the SDM has proven it’s power. It employs safe non-nuclear technology, contributing to a new era in mining, where safety, sustainability, and operational excellence come first.
Four key features and benefits
Reliability: Ultrasonics is at the base of the SDM ECO, which is a trusted and field-proven technology to measure the slurry density, even at the most complex and abrasive conditions.
Eco-friendliness: Radioactive materials are a thing of the past. The SDM has a lower cost of ownership, reducing resources and time spent on nuclear safety compliance.
Adaptability: The instrument is applicable for various installations, in horizontal or vertical pipes, half-filled pipes, launders, or tanks, due to its modular design and a range of fittings.
Ease-of-use: A standard 7″ touchscreen display, your laptop, via optional Wi-Fi, or from anywhere when access is given to the server, gives you full control over the instrument.
Measuring method
The acoustic impedance is used by the SDM ECO to calculate the slurry density, which is the ultrasonic energy that reflects at the interface between the sensor and a slurry or liquid.
